My day begins with pulling an Angel Tarot card for a suggestion of where my day is going to lead me. This usually happens in my bedroom before the distractions of pet care invade my brain. Two cats and two dogs must be served before anything else happens in my day.
Following that, I will often pull a card just to see what the energy will be in the world. Today I decided to pull a card from one of my newer decks, Tarot of Mystical Moments. This was a Christmas gift from my husband this year, a pretty new release in tarot decks. I LOVE this deck. This artist is a very talented collage artist and all of the image s are simply stunning.
Today I pulled the Hanged Man card, number XII. When I first began to read tarot cards, I found this card unsettling, as I think most newbies do. But this card is really not what it appears on first glance. The person hanging is very loosely bound by a foot and can escape if they wanted to.
But, why would they? The energy of the Hanged Man is all about hitting the pause button in our busy lives and looking at the world with a fresh perspective. I think about little toddlers and how you will see them bending, folded over, looking up through their legs. Life is a mystery to be discovered from all perspectives.
This card is perfect for the season with the beautiful greens leaves and sky breaking through the top, reflecting off the woman’s skirt. This energy is encouraging us to pause and look at life with new eyes and a fresh perspective during this season of springtime renewal, even if it’s still snow-y in your part of the world.
